Made For More (Week 3): Exchange Hiding For Healing
SERMON SUMMARY:
It’s possible to be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone. In Luke 8:43–48, a woman who had suffered for twelve years came to Jesus hidden in a crowd, hoping to be healed without being seen. Jesus healed her body, but He didn’t let her remain hidden—He called her “daughter” and restored her identity, dignity, and belonging. Like her, we often reach for distractions, achievements, social media, or other substitutes to soothe the ache of loneliness without allowing ourselves to be truly known. But we weren’t made to hide or follow Jesus alone. We were made for authentic community where we can be seen, known, cared for, and help others experience that same belonging. We hide to stay safe, but Jesus brings us into the light to restore us.
