The Pathway: Taking your Next Steps in the life-long journey of following Jesus

What Do We Believe?

At Adventure we want to be known for what we FOR and not for what we are AGAINST. We are for everything that has been described in our VALUES & PRIORITIES above, but at the same time we are not against anyone. We believe that you can before something/someone without also having to be against something/someone else. We unashamedly AFFIRM what we believe and interpret the Bible saysabout all aspects of life.We also ACCEPT and welcome anyone and everyone that wants to get in the same room with Jesus and allow Him to work things out, just as He did, regardless of their past mistakes or present circumstances. While many “religious” and “self righteous” folks (whether intentionally or not) seek to create a hierarchy of sinful behaviors where some are worse than others…the truth is this: sin is sin, plain and simple.  The word for sin means “to miss the mark.” So whether its a miss by a millimeter or a mile…a miss is a miss…and we HAVE ALL MISSED. We’re all in the same boat when it comes to our desperate need for Jesus’ grace and mercy.  So whether we struggle with sexual sin, substance addiction, lying, stealing, gossip, or anger, etc…no one’s sin is better or worse than anyone else’s and no person’s need for Jesus’ grace and mercy is more or less than anyone else’s. Jesus invites everyone into an “abundant life” (John 10:10). This is the life we’re meant for and made for. Living that kind of life happens through making Jesus our personal Lord AND Savior. We believe that our core beliefs, when expressed and lived out through our values and priorities, help to form the guardrails that keep us on the path to living the kind of life Jesus desires for us. The life we’re meant for and made for is real and living that life is possible now.

What should I Expect on a sunday?

When you enter the church, one or two people from the church will be available to greet you as you come in and will help you to find where to go. If it's your first time, head over to the NEXT STEPS AREA. We can answer any questions you have about the church, and we would love to give you a gift to welcome you to Adventure.

Our Sunday service starts at 10am, but as we are fairly relaxed in style and format there is no problem if for some reason you arrive a few minutes late. We have lively time of worship with our band and one of our pastors will preach and share a message which is relevant and inspiring. We often have an opportunity to respond to the message during the service, be it through singing, prayer or a decision for Christ! Kid’s Ministry (Birth - 5th Grade) Programming is available during our Sunday worship gathering. Our Kid’s ministry crew can help you get your kids checked in and make some amazing new friends. Students (6th - 12th grade) join in on our Sunday worship gathering. There’s a “student section” in our main worship area and our student ministry leaders can help your students get connected. More info about Kid’s and Student Ministries can be found by scrolling down to the next section.

What Should I Wear?

People sometimes ask what they should wear when coming to be part of church on a Sunday, and we usually recommend that you come as you feel comfortable. Most people dress casually (Jeans and T-Shirts), however, with so many people from different backgrounds we have a wide range of styles and tastes.

What About My Kids?

Helping people live the life we’re made for includes our Kids. We offer full (and really fun) Kid’s Ministry on Sundays during our main worship gathering time. Sunday mornings for kids begins at our Kid’s Check-in station, which is located on the main worship level right where you come in. There, you’ll be greeted by our warm and welcoming Kid Check crew. They will help make sure your children are checked into the correct area in Kid’s Ministry. If it’s your very first Sunday at Adventure, someone from our Kid Check Team will walk you down to your child’s room and introduce you and your child to their leader for the morning. Pick up after worship happens at the Kid’s Ministry area/room where they were dropped off. We make sure that your child’s name tag matches the parent tag before they leave the room.

Here are the Kid’s Ministry areas that we offer on Sunday Mornings:

  • Nursery (infants - 2 year olds): We have a fully equipped nursery that’s staffed with fully trained volunteers who are kind, compassionate, and unafraid of changing a dirty diaper. Babies are cared for and toddlers get to begin learning about the love of Jesus.

  • Preschool (3 year old - Pre K): Our Pre-K kids start off by playing together before participating in an interactive Bible lesson and age-appropriate worship.

  • Elementary (Kindergarten - 5th Grade): Our Elementary age kids also begin their morning in fun and engaging play before moving into their own worship area for a time of interactive teaching and high energy worship. They end their time in grade based small groups with dedicated volunteer leaders.

What do we offer for middle school and high school students? Great question…

  • Adventure Students (6th - 12th Grade): Our Middle School and High School students attend our Worship service together at 10am on Sundays. Most sit together in the “student section” in our main worship area. Student Ministry meets on Wednesday nights at church from 6:30-8:30PM for Student Worship & Groups.

***The safety and security of our kids and students is one of our highest priorities. All “age level” ministry areas are secured and monitored by our security team during all ministry programming times. Every volunteer that works with young people (Birth - 12th grade) undergoes a thorough background check and completes a comprehensive training process through our partners at Ministry Safe. Additionally we have a strict “2 Adult Minimum” policy for all Kid’s & Student Ministry areas where there are at least 2 adults (usually more) in every room where kids/young people are present. Ministry areas won’t be opened up until at least 2 adult volunteers are present. We also strive to keep a 1:5 (or better) adult to child ratio to make sure every child is seen, known, and cared for.***

I'm not sure I'm ready for church yet...

Given how church is often portrayed in the media and the news, that is not surprising! Jesus lived the most amazing life and his message is both powerful and revolutionary, yet this image is far from that painted of church today. Church for us is a gathering of people who are being changed day by day by following Jesus. We're far from perfect, completely individual and amazingly diverse. Life is messy, often chaotic, but as we journey together we find ourselves as part of a community where we find encouragement, hope, strength and life. If you are on a journey towards faith, whatever stage you are at there is space for you to do that at your own pace.

What else is going on through the week?

There are lots of different activities taking place during the week at Adventure for everyone and the details of many of these are available on this site. Most of our ministry programming takes place on Sundays (Worship: 10a) and Wednesdays (Student Ministry | 6p - 7:30p). We offer LifeGroups for adults and young adults, as well as Men’s and Women’s groups a various times and locations throughout the week. You can learn more about groups by clicking HERE. We will also host events throughout the year on other days or nights of the week. If you are not part of a church already we'd love to connect with you and help you take your next step in living the life you’re made for.
